SA beat INDIA by 135 Runs in the first ODI










In an one sided 1st one day, South Africa handed India a 135-run thrashing in the opening One-Day International in Durban, dominating proceedings throughout at Kingsmead. South Africa takes the 1-0 lead in the 5 match series on Wednesday, 12th January, 2011 at Durban. SAF made 289/9 in 50 overs and IND all out on 154runs in 35.4 overs.

South Africa won the toss lost 2 wickets early but Amla quick 50 runs of just 36 balls and partnership between AB de Viiliers and JP Duminy put 131 runs in 22 overs made 76 and 73 runs respectively Guided them to set a tough total of 289. India chasing 289 lost openers Murali Vijay (1) and Sachin Tendulkar (7) cheaply, Virat Kohli resisted with 54 in 70 balls but South Africa kept in complete control as wickets tumbled at the other end. Morkel (2-12), Steyn (2-29) and Tsotsobe (4-31) bowled out visitors cheaply for 154 runs

AB deVilliers got Man of the Match for his 69 balls 76 runs with 7 fours and a six.
